HELLO?
DO YOU THINK WE CAN BE DONE WITH THE FRIGGIN' SNOW YET?

Good Lord, I'm just so done with the snow... with the slipping and tripping, with throwing my car into 1st gear so I can get down the icy hill to my apartment, with the cabin fever, with the scraping the ice off my vehicle, with the "oh my god what if my battery dies right now" fear, with the 46 coats, scarves, hats and general bundling up, the constant nose-running and eye-tearing, the inescapable wet carpet by my front door from the snowy shoes... Gargh! I'm DONE!

I wish I had a digital camera, because I'd love to post pictures of this ridiculous scene. Snow is blowing everywhere, my car is buried up to its wheelwells, and naturally my snowbrush/ice scraper is in the car. Great place for it.

I also love reading the NWS Forecast Discussions. My God, I just want to work for the NWS in the worst way. Anyone know anyone who can get me a job? I'll scrub their toilets! :-)

Anyhoo, in other news, last night I sang at a really cool concert at my church. I really love singing in this choir.

In a rare, delicious turn of events, I woke up late this morning (8:30 -- I had to be at church at 8:55) and was thinking "OH CRAP!!" when I saw that I had a message on my cell phone voice mail... which turned out to be Daryl (my church choir director), who said choir was cancelled due to the snow. Funny, I didn't know the snow was even gonna start in the morning. So I peeked out the window and said, "HOLY CRAP!" and then went back to sleep until noon! Yeah!

Anyhoozle, I'm sitting here in my fish pajamas, unshowered, having only eaten a krimpet. My walk has been plowed and shoveled by the nice apartment maintenance men... one of the few nice things about living in an apartment. I wonder if there's a service for homeowners that automatically sends someone to shovel your driveway and walk when it snows. I'd need that.

I talked to Jeremy a little while ago. He was supposed to fly back from Kansas City today, but it looks like he'll be stranded out there until Tuesday. Guh!

At sushi Thursday, Brett observed and commented on the fact that I say "holy crap" a lot. I hadn't noticed it really, but since he brought it to my attention, I guess I do.

OK, truebelievers, that's about all I have to report. I finally got my bathtub hot water fixed, so mayhaps a nice HOT bath is in order!

Bye!

ADDENDUM: The NWS just upped their snow forecast totals to 30". Accenture still isn't closed tomorrow, but they did say that all non-essential personnel should report to work. Ah, it's nice to be considered non-essential for a change! (Jill remembers back to the hurricane in 1999 when she was one of the ONLY two people in the tall, glass building of First USA...)
