Not much to report, so I'll give you a quick low-down in no particular order:
I scored an audition slot for Little Shop of Horrors at City Theatre. Woohooo! Wish me luck on Sunday at 6:45pm.
I can't stop coughing. Please God, give me codeine when I go to the doc tomorrow.
Music Man closed this weekend. It was a very long production process and also a very long run, so I can't say I'm totally devastated that it's over. But I will say that working with the quartet was an amazingly musically satisfying experience, and I'll miss it very much. We're getting together next week to record the quartet songs in a studio setting, so that'll be cool. And Kurt has spoken: even though Ghiorzi, Brian and Paul all claim to love Kurt best, we were anxiously awaiting closing night to hear who Kurt loved best. And it turns out, he loves ME the best! I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!
Got a letter from my cathedral asking me to be "officially welcomed" into the church in a nifty ceremony in a couple weeks (1/11). Guess I'm not just in the choir anymore. Maybe now that I'm more sure I'll be sticking around these parts, I should start to set down some roots, eh...
Told my mother about the previous line item and while she was supportive, she did put up a little fuss. It breaks my heart that it breaks her heart that I'm just can't be Cathlolic.
Elizabeth (aka "e" or "E-beth") was in town tonight from Seattle, so we all went to John Harvard's to grab some dinner and some tasty microbrews (or, water, in my case). Sooooooo good to see her! She's headed down to West Virginia tonight, but she'll be back for Jerm and Stacey's wedding. Yay!
Sandler decided that if we're not otherwise married in 10 years, we'll marry each other at The Cosmos. (He set an appointment in his PDA for 12/29/2013, so it's gonna happen, don'tcha know. Once it's committed to electrons, it's official. Though I'm convinced he and Danielle are gonna hit it off. They've already got a date for Jerm's wedding.)
Did I mention that I can't stop coughing?
I got a lot of DAT stuff accomplished today. Mixed down almost all of the Cappella Sonora 12/13/03 concert from Brophy... all I have left to do is the Mass, which shouldn't be that bad. (well... ya know.) The rest of it sounds absolutely wonderful. I'm really proud of what we accomplished.
We taped the Midnight Mass concert and service music on Christmas Eve (thanks, Chris), and I got that all mixed down tonight... also sounds really great. CD is all burned, so one thing officially chalked off the to-do list.
Now I'm starting my Knappuccino's DAT transfer from 12/20. Whew!
Speaking of Knappuccino's, January's show is totally set up, and it's another full bill. Can't wait!
My apartment is a frikkin' disaster. Can't wait for New Year's Day so I can take the day to clean it up. Man!
The manicotti that I was kvelling about in my previous post has gone to waste because I'm an idiot. I left it in my trunk since 12/27. The college student in me rationalizes that it's perfectly edible, since it was below freezing every night. Mom reminds me, however, that the ricotta cheese filling contains raw eggs, and it was also 55 degrees during the day. What the hell, I can't get any sicker, right? Maybe a little salmonella would clean me out a little... like Super Colon Blow.
I want my damn Rufus Wainwright CD back. Maybe I should just buy another copy. I'd support ol' Rufus, what the heck. I do have $100 in Amazon gift certificates to spend... (thanks, Ron!)
I think I actually wrote my first song, like, lyrics and melody and everything. Matt's gonna help me put it together, but I'm really excited about the process. Rock!
If I'm sick, what the heck am I still doing up? Duh!
